Description

A mouthwatering prime rib that is seasoned with a perfect blend of spices to enhance its natural flavors and create a savory crust.

Ingredients

prime rib roast (4-5 lbs)
Kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
cloves garlic (minced)
tablespoons fresh rosemary (chopped)
tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C)
  2. Trim any excess fat from the prime rib and pat dry with paper towels
  3. Rub the roast generously with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
  4. Combine minced garlic, chopped rosemary, and olive oil in a bowl, mix well, and rub this mixture all over the prime rib
  5. Let the seasoned prime rib rest at room temperature for 1 hour
  6. Place the prime rib in a roasting pan and roast in the preheated oven for 20 minutes
  7. Reduce the oven temperature to 325°F (163°C) and continue roasting for about 1 to 1.5 hours, until desired doneness
  8. Remove from the oven, cover loosely with foil, and let it rest for at least 20 minutes before slicing

Notes

For more flavor, consider marinating the prime rib overnight after applying the seasoning.

Use a meat thermometer to ensure the prime rib reaches your desired internal temperature.
