Description

This Creamy Parmesan Garlic Beef Bowtie Pasta is a comforting and simple meal that brings together the robust flavor of seasoned beef, the sharpness of Parmesan cheese, and the aromatic essence of garlic, all wrapped in a velvety sauce. It's a crowd-pleaser that can be made in one pot, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale

1.5 lbs Ground Beef (lean)
1 lb Bowtie Pasta (Farfalle)
1 tbsp Olive Oil
1 medium Onion (yellow, chopped)
4–5 cloves Garlic (minced)
2 cups Beef Broth (low sodium)
1 cup Heavy Cream
1 cup + more for garnish Parmesan Cheese (freshly grated)
1 tsp Dijon Mustard
1 tsp Dried Italian Seasoning
Salt to taste
Black Pepper to taste
2 tbsp Fresh Parsley (chopped, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add your bowtie pasta and cook according to package directions until al dente. Reserve about 1 cup of the starchy pasta water before draining. Set the drained pasta aside
  2. Brown the Beef: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, crumbling it as you go. Drain off excess grease
  3. Sauté Aromatics: Reduce heat to medium. Add chopped onion and sauté for 5-7 minutes until soft. Add minced garlic and Italian seasoning; cook for another minute until fragrant
  4. Deglaze and Build Flavor: Pour in beef broth, scraping the bottom of the pan. Stir in Dijon mustard and simmer for 3-5 minutes
  5. Create the Creamy Sauce: Reduce heat to low. Stir in heavy cream and grated Parmesan until smooth. Season with salt and black pepper
  6. Combine and Finish: Add cooked bowtie pasta to the sauce and mix until coated. If too thick, add reserved pasta water to adjust consistency
  7. Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan. Serve immediately

Notes

Don't skimp on browning the beef for flavor.

Use freshly grated Parmesan for a smoother sauce.

Reserve pasta water for a silky texture.
