Ingredients
lb ground beef
medium potatoes, thinly sliced
can cream of mushroom soup
/4 cup milk
cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
onion, diced (optional)
Salt and black pepper to taste
Garlic powder (optional)
Onion powder (optional)
Paprika (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish
- Cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned; drain excess fat
- Layer sliced potatoes in the baking dish, followed by half of the ground beef, half of the cream of mushroom soup mixture (with added milk and seasonings), and repeat layers
- Top with shredded cheese and cover with foil. Bake for 45-50 minutes, remove foil, and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until potatoes are tender and cheese is golde
- Let it rest for 5-10 minutes before serving
Notes
For a spicier version, add jalapeños or Tex-Mex seasonings.
You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter dish.
