Ingredients

1 lb Flank Steak, thinly sliced against the grai
1 tbsp Soy Sauce (for marinade)
1 tsp Cornstarch (for marinade)
1 tbsp Vegetable Oil, divided
4 cups Broccoli Florets
2 cloves Garlic, minced
1 inch Ginger, grated
1/2 cup Beef Broth (or water)
1/4 cup Soy Sauce
2 tbsp Oyster Sauce (optional)
1 tbsp Brown Sugar (or honey/maple syrup)
1 tsp Sesame Oil
1 tbsp Cornstarch (for sauce slurry)
2 tbsp Water (for cornstarch slurry)


Instructions

  1. Prep the Beef: Toss the sliced beef in a bowl with soy sauce and cornstarch. Let it marinate for 10 minutes
  2. Chop Your Veggies & Aromatics: Prepare the broccoli, garlic, and ginger
  3. Whip Up the Sauce: Mix broth, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and brown sugar. Prepare cornstarch slurry in a separate bowl
  4. Sear the Beef: Heat oil in a skillet and sear beef in batches. Set aside
  5. Cook the Broccoli: Stir-fry broccoli until bright green and tender-crisp
  6. Add Aromatics: Sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant
  7. Bring it All Together: Add sauce mixture to the pan and bring to a simmer
  8. Thicken the Sauce: Add cornstarch slurry and stir until sauce thickens
  9. Combine & Finish: Return beef to the pan, coat with sauce, and stir in sesame oil. Serve immediately

Notes

For a gluten-free version, substitute soy sauce with tamari.
