Description
Instant Pot BBQ Short Ribs are the ultimate comfort food, delivering fall-off-the-bone tenderness in a fraction of the traditional cooking time. Perfect for busy weeknights, this recipe is beginner-friendly and packed with rich flavors.
Ingredients
3–4 lbs Beef Short Ribs
1 cup Beef Broth
1.5 cups BBQ Sauce
2 tbsp Brown Sugar
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tsp Onion Powder
1 tsp Smoked Paprika
Salt & Pepper to taste
1 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
Instructions
- Pat the ribs dry and season with a mixture of salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika
- Optional: Sear the ribs in the Instant Pot using the 'Sauté' function for 2-3 minutes per side
- Deglaze the pot with beef broth and apple cider vinegar, scraping up any brown bits
- Place the trivet in the pot, stack the ribs on top, and pour half of the BBQ sauce over them
- Close the lid, set the valve to 'Sealing', and pressure cook on high for 45 minutes
- After 45 minutes, let the pressure release naturally for 15 minutes before venting remaining steam
- Remove the ribs using tongs, brush with remaining BBQ sauce, and optionally broil for 3-5 minutes for a caramelized finish
Notes
Use a natural release for tender meat.
Check for and remove the silver skin for better texture.
Leftover ribs can be stored in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
