Ingredients
lbs Ground Beef (80/20 lean)
tbsp Sesame Oil
cloves Garlic, minced
tbsp Fresh Ginger, grated
/2 cup Soy Sauce (low sodium)
/4 cup Brown Sugar (packed)
tbsp Rice Vinegar
tsp Gochujang (optional)
tsp Toasted Sesame Oil
/2 tsp Black Pepper, freshly ground
Cooked Rice (jasmine or brown)
/4 cup Green Onions, sliced
tbsp Sesame Seeds
Kimchi (optional)
Fried Egg (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare your sauce by whisking together the soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, gochujang, toasted sesame oil, and black pepper
- Heat the sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the ground beef until fully cooked
- Drain excess fat from the skillet
- Add minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking until fragrant
- Pour the prepared sauce over the beef and simmer for 3-5 minutes until thickened
- Serve over cooked rice and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Add fried egg or kimchi if desired
Notes
For a gluten-free version, use tamari or coconut aminos instead of soy sauce.
Adjust the level of gochujang to control spice levels.
