Pear Ginger Mocktail. Four alcohol-free pear-nectar, ginger-beer and lime drinks assembled just before serving. The formula and timing below are working estimates for a future kitchen trial, not a claim that a batch has been made.

Pear sweetness with a ginger edge
A pear ginger mocktail can be assembled in individual glasses rather than mixed in a large pitcher that quickly loses its fizz. Pear nectar gives a mellow fruit base, nonalcoholic ginger beer brings spice and carbonation, and lime keeps the sweetness in balance. A measure of sparkling water lightens the drink without adding another syrup.
This is an original working ratio for four glasses. The ten-minute estimate covers assembly only with prechilled bottles. It does not claim that chilling room-temperature nectar, slicing garnish for a crowd or transporting drinks can all be done in ten minutes.
Buy nectar and ginger beer by label
Use a pourable pear nectar, not thick canned pear purée. Nectar brands can vary in added sugar and pear concentration, and ginger beers differ in ginger heat and sweetness. The base pairs two cups nectar with one cup each ginger beer and sparkling water, plus one-quarter cup fresh lime juice.
For a genuinely alcohol-free presentation, inspect the specific ginger-beer label rather than treating the product name as proof. A fermented or specialty bottle may be labeled differently. The ingredient list deliberately calls for nonalcoholic ginger beer, while the recipe makes no blanket medical or diet claim.
Ice and washed fresh pear slices finish the drinks. The photograph should show a light pale-gold beverage, not the red hue of a pomegranate-ginger sparkler. No cinnamon syrup or sugared glass rim appears in the measured base.
Ingredients for 4 drinks
| Ingredient | Amount | Use |
|---|---|---|
| Pear nectar, chilled | 2 cups | Use a pourable nectar; sweetness varies by brand. |
| Nonalcoholic ginger beer, chilled | 1 cup | Check product label for alcohol and sweetness. |
| Cold sparkling water | 1 cup | Lightens the sweetness. |
| Fresh lime juice | 1/4 cup | About two limes; measure. |
| Ice | 4 cups | About one cup per glass. |
| Fresh pear, thinly sliced | 1 pear | Four edible slices; wash and add immediately. |
Step-by-step method
- Chill 2 cups pear nectar, 1 cup clearly labeled nonalcoholic ginger beer and 1 cup sparkling water in advance. Squeeze and measure 1/4 cup fresh lime juice. Wash and slice one pear just before assembling; do not assume every ginger beer is appropriate for an alcohol-free label.
- Divide approximately 4 cups ice among four tall glasses. Pour 1/2 cup pear nectar and 1 tbsp lime juice into each glass. Stir once to combine without breaking the ice.
- Add 1/4 cup nonalcoholic ginger beer and 1/4 cup sparkling water to each glass. Stir gently once or twice, rather than shaking away the carbonation.
- Garnish each glass with a fresh pear slice and serve immediately. The liquid totals approximately 8 ounces per glass before ice and garnish; account for the glass's usable volume and test the final sweetness with the chosen nectar and ginger beer.
Build four glasses at serving time
Before guests arrive, measure the lime juice and put the sealed drinks in the refrigerator. At service, fill each tall glass with roughly a cup of ice. Pour half a cup pear nectar and one tablespoon lime juice into each; give the base a quick stir.
Top each glass with one-quarter cup ginger beer and one-quarter cup sparkling water. Stir gently so the bubbles remain. One thin pear slice on the rim gives a visual cue to the fruit flavor. The total measured liquid is eight ounces in each glass before ice; check that the chosen glasses have room for both.
Carmy's pear-ginger drink is a culinary pairing reference. The Chefly dilution, four-glass yield and fresh garnish are working decisions to test, not an adopted recipe or source-backed claim of perfect sweetness.
Adjust after tasting, not in secret
If the drink tastes syrupy, use a less sweet nectar or ginger beer in the next trial, or test a measured change to sparkling water. Do not silently pour in extra lime while keeping the article's quarter-cup total unchanged. Too much lime can flatten the pear flavor.
If the drink is weak, check whether ice melted during a long wait. Build just before serving and do not shake carbonated ingredients in a sealed container. A coarse pear purée may settle unpleasantly and make the photograph misleading; the specified nectar should pour freely.
A mocktail's final sweetness is brand-dependent. Note the pear nectar and ginger-beer labels used during the trial, and reconsider nutrition only if actual brands and serving basis are known. No calorie or sugar estimate is printed here.
Serve a fresh small batch
The drink pairs with a holiday appetizer spread or a separate Chefly chocolate-orange layer cake for dessert. Because the sparkle is central, mixing a full pitcher hours ahead is not the same result. Prepare the measured still ingredients first and open carbonation near service.
Use fresh pear slices promptly; they can brown if cut far in advance. A tested variation might briefly coat them with citrus, but this base has only a quarter-cup lime allocated to the four drinks. The image and card must not imply a garnish treatment that has not been specified.
Mocktail questions
Can I use ginger ale?
It is generally milder and sweeter than ginger beer; a direct swap changes the balance and should be taste-tested as a variation.
Can I mix a pitcher ahead?
Mix pear nectar and lime shortly ahead if held chilled, but add ginger beer and sparkling water at service to preserve bubbles. The timing still needs a batch test.
Is every ginger beer alcohol-free?
Do not assume so from the name. Choose a product explicitly labeled nonalcoholic for this version.
