Description
This Roasted Citrus Herb Turkey Breast provides all the crispy skin and tender meat of a full bird in half the cooking time, perfect for smaller gatherings or casual dinners.
Ingredients
6–7 lbs Bone-in Turkey Breast
1/2 cup Unsalted Butter
2 tbsp Fresh Rosemary
2 tbsp Fresh Thyme
1 tbsp Fresh Sage
4 cloves Garlic Cloves
1 tbsp Orange Zest
1 tbsp Lemon Zest
1.5 tbsp Kosher Salt
1 tsp Black Pepper
1 cup Chicken Broth
Instructions
- Remove the turkey from refrigerator 45 minutes before roasting
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C)
- In a small bowl, mix softened butter, minced rosemary, thyme, sage, garlic, citrus zests, salt, and pepper to form a paste
- Pat the turkey breast dry with paper towels and loosen the skin over the breast meat
- Stuff half of the herb butter under the skin and spread the remaining over the outside
- Place the turkey on a rack inside a roasting pan and add chicken broth to the bottom of the pa
- Insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the breast and roast until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C)
- Remove from oven and let it rest for at least 20 minutes before serving
Notes
Always use a meat thermometer for the best results.
Letting the turkey dry in the fridge before cooking helps achieve crispy skin.
Store leftovers in an airtight container with pan juices to retain moisture.
