Description
These Slow Cooker Apple Cider Ribs offer the ultimate cozy dinner for crisp autumn evenings spent with loved ones around a crowded table. Enjoy tender, fall-off-the-bone meat with the nostalgic sweetness of reduced apple cider combined with warm spices.
Ingredients
3–4 lbs Baby Back Pork Ribs
2 cups Fresh Apple Cider
1/2 cup Light Brown Sugar
1/4 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
1 tablespoon Garlic Powder
1 tablespoon Smoked Paprika
1 teaspoon Onion Powder
Kosher Salt & Black Pepper to taste
1 tablespoon Dijon Mustard
2 tablespoons Cornstarch
Instructions
- Prepare the ribs by removing the silver skin membrane and patting them dry. Rub the ribs with Dijon mustard
- In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, salt, and pepper, then apply this dry rub to the ribs
- Pour apple cider and apple cider vinegar into the slow cooker. Place the ribs in the pot, cover, and cook on 'Low' for 7-8 hours
- Once cooked, remove the ribs and pour the liquid into a saucepan. Bring to a boil, whisk cornstarch with cold water, and stir into the boiling cider to thicke
- Glaze the ribs with the thickened cider mixture and broil for 3-5 minutes for a charred finish
Notes
Allow the ribs to rest for 10 minutes after broiling to let juices redistribute.
