3/4 cup Unsalted Butter (Softened)
1 cup Granulated Sugar
1 unit Large Egg
1/4 cup Unsulphured Molasses
2 1/4 cups All-Purpose Flour
2 teaspoons Baking Soda
1 1/2 teaspoons Ground Ginger
1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamo
1/2 teaspoon Ground Cloves
1/4 teaspoon Salt
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two large baking sheets with parchment paper
- Step 2: In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy
- Step 3: Add the egg and molasses to the creamed mixture and mix until smooth
- Step 4: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt
- Step 5: Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture until just blended
- Step 6: Optionally chill the dough in the fridge for 30 minutes to prevent spreading
- Step 7: Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them 2 inches apart on the baking sheet. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes
- Step 8: Remove from the oven when edges are set but centers are still soft. Let cool on the warm baking sheet
