Description
Carne molida refers to ground meat, commonly beef, but can also include lamb, chicken, or turkey, depending on the region. It is a staple ingredient in various Latin American dishes such as tacos, empanadas, and picadillo, noted for its rich flavor typically enhanced with a mix of spices.
Ingredients
pounds carne molida (ground beef)
tablespoon olive oil
onion, diced
cloves garlic, minced
teaspoon cumi
teaspoon oregano
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat
- Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute
- Add the carne molida and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks
- Season with cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper
- Once cooked, serve in tacos or use for other dishes
Notes
For a coarser texture, ask your butcher for a coarser grind instead of finely ground.
